Personal health has never been more important than in past several years. With everything going on in the world, with us being overstressed and overworked we need to take care of our bodies and our general health.
Recent years thought us to believe in everything from general medicine to alternative and holistic ways of healing. One of the alternatives and holistic ways that have come up as very promising and good is Reiki. To those of you that do not know about Reiki and if this is the first time you are learning about it, we will try to explain everything in as much detail as we can and we will try and tell you all you need to know when it comes to learning Reiki if you choose to do so.
Reiki energy healing is a Japanese technique of stress reduction and relaxation and it also promotes general healing. It is based on a fact that everything in the universe and everything around us is based on some sort of energy, and this includes our emotions as well. We as humans have, sometimes too much, emotions which lead to emotional blocks that we all cling so hard to. This bad habit we have can affect our life force and disturb our inner peace and health. Reiki helps relieve those blocks and helps us release those emotions.
Most try to divide Reiki into two categories – mental and physical, but it is so much more than that and it affects our overall wellness. It looks at our mind, our body and our spirit as a whole and it influences all three aspects of humans to bring out that overall well-being.
Now that we have made a bit longer intro and touched on some basics of Reiki let’s dive into the psychology part of this treatment. We as humans need to believe in something. It is coded into our DNA and all of us, willing to admit it or not, believe in something. Some of us believe in God, others in certain objects, animals, life forces and energy.
One thing that is true here, when it comes to Reiki, is that believing in energy doesn’t make you any less foolish than believing in God. There is an energy that is going through everything around us and there are persons that can sense that energy, interact with it and manipulate it to get to the desired goal. Reiki is close to that. It has human contact that is a reflection of affection. It balances things in the life of an individual and through that balance it achieves its goals of overall improvement of your wellbeing.
Most that undergo Reiki healing and treatments describe it a bit differently. Everyone will have a different point of view here because it is highly individual, but what all of them agree on is that 90% of people undergoing Reiki therapy feel a warm sensation and tingling in spots that are being treated. Relaxation and energy rushes are also things that people feel as well as uniformity of mind and body with a feeling that is hard to describe for so many. The best thing regarding Reiki is that you don’t need to be a follower of mind, body and health to try this type of therapy and undergo a session or two from time to time. This is spectacular because it works on both believers and non-believers. Those who are tough to admit that something is going on here have reported the strongest sensations that were, strangely enough, hard to explain.
Another thing you need to know is that there are different Reiki practices. Since it is revolving around pure energy you can go with direct practitioner contact or without contact at all. Both of these techniques are effective and it all comes down to the practitioner and their preferences. You also have two main positions – lying or standing depending on the session length and result.
The fun thing about Reiki is that anyone can learn it and after being a patient and after finding out that there is something to this, you can start learning it and become a Reiki practitioner. It is easy and believes it or not there are Reiki classes just like any other and if you are interested you can check out highhogems.com for more info.
The answer to the topic at hand isn’t as simple as you may have been expecting. The time you need to learn Reiki will vary based on you, your teacher, the format of the class and the type of Reiki. We already mentioned this several times, but you have to know this – ANYONE can and should learn Reiki. It is usually though in levels which require time in between to practice and become used to the energy and to become fluid in everything from the terms to have the experience in treating other people. This also includes time to get a feel for different balanced energies versus different issues and illnesses.
According to some teachers it takes around two full 8–10-hour days to teach Reiki level 1. Between the first and second level, there needs to be some time where you practice and get acquainted with everything though and that period will vary from teacher to teacher, but an optimal time is 2 to 6 months. Level two of Reiki takes a full week and some say that this time frame means you take level two fast-paced. What is also interesting is the fact that most love level two because it is the most fun and you will tackle crystals, long-distance healing and mental-emotional healing. Reiki 3 and above takes even more time and more importantly takes a lot of practising and self-Reiki as well, so keep that in mind.
In a conclusion, we can tell you that Reiki is not something you want to miss out on. It is a wonderful, natural thing to experience and it works. It is a great way to ease some of the burdens you have been carrying on your shoulder, you can relax, reduce stress and anxiety and much, much more. With the right Reiki practitioner and with the right Reiki teachers you will experience nothing but the best things it can offer you.
